Agartala, Tripura, 11th of May 2026 : With the initiative of Assam Association of Tripura organized 25th Rupali Joyanti Year of Rongali Bihu Celebration at Nazrul Kalakshetra , Agartala on Sunday (10th May, 2026).
In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu inaugurated 25th Rupali Joyanti Year of Rongali Bihu celebration ceremony.
Addressing at the celebration ceremony of Rongali Bihu Hon’ble Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu emphasized the cultural heritage and social values associated with Rongali Bihu. He said the festival symbolizes the joy and spirit of welcoming the New Year among the people of Assam. The festival not only honours nature but also plays an important role in strengthening unity among people from all sections of society. The Governor also highly praised the office bearers of the Assam Association of Tripura for consistently organizing Rongali Bihu celebrations in Tripura for the past 25 years.
Addressing the programme, Chairperson of the Women Commission Jharna Debbarma highlighted the significance of Rongali Bihu. Mukut Sharma also spoke at the event.
On this auspicious occasion of artists presented attractive cultural programmes like dance, song, music to beautify the ceremony. Dr. Priyangshu Rana Borthakur delivered a welcome address at celebration ceremony of Rongali Bihu. The vote of thanks was delivered by Pulin Changmai.
