Agartala, Tripura, 10th of August 2025 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Sunday (10th August, 2025) night. According to the sources, along with the RPF, arrested two person drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station, and seized a total of 7.940 Kg dry cannabis worth ₹ 1.5 lakh. They wanted to take it to other State by train using Agartala railway station.

According to the sources, Two person namely Amit (35), S/O- Rakesh Kumar of Tundla, PO- Station Road Tundla, PS- Kotwali Thana Tundla, Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh and Nitish Kumar (30), S/O- Valam Roy of Trimahmadpur, PO- Shaistapur, PS- Rastampur, Vaishali, Bihar have been arrested from Agartala Railway station with contraband cannabis (ganja). A specific case under NDPS Act is being registered at Agartala GRPS.
