Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha unveiled the Statue of Maharani Tulsibati at Maharani Tulsibati Girls H.S. School, Agartala on Saturday (14th January, 2023).
“Kings contributed a lot in the development of Tripura State. In this context, he mentioned Umakanta School, MBB College, Durgabari, Agartala Airport”, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at the unveiled ceremony of the Statue of Maharani Tulsibati. The Chief Minister said that the new generation needs to know the history of the State. The present Government is trying to present the history of the State to the younger generation in various ways. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always said that if women do not progress, our society and country cannot progress.
The Chief Minister added that the State Government is also implementing various schemes for women empowerment and development. The State Government has provided 33 percent reservation for women in Government jobs. A system of unpaid education for girls has been introduced in general degree colleges. Police stations run by women and help desks for women have been set up of the state. The Chief Minister also highlighted various developmental works in the State Government is working to take this State to the pinnacle of overall development. On this occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled the school’s annual souvenir ‘Anwesha’.
Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder, Corporator Ratna Datta, Headmaster Nandan Sarkar, Chief Minister’s wife Swapna Saha, former secretary of Maharani Tulsibati Alumni Purnima Roy and many others dignitaries were present in the programme.
