Hon’ble Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb laid the foundation stone for the construction of RCC Bridge Over Manu River at Manikpur, Dhalai on Monday (21st February, 2022).
“Rs.500.33 lakhs have been sanctioned for the project and the bridge will be completed in 24 months.Implementation of this project will substantially improve the socio-economic conditions of the rural inhabitants of Chawmanu Block.
At present people of Debachera cross the river through temporary bamboo Foot Bridge but during rainy season they cover the journey of more than 14.00Km to come to Manikpur Market via Chawmanu.
I myself experienced the difficulties faced by the locals while crossing the current bamboo bridge and I assure everyone that we will finish the construction of this bridge in minimum time possible”, Hon’ble CM Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted.
