
Police Force has been pursuing its commitment to contribute in making “Tripura – A Drug Free State” by regularly conducting ‘Anti-Narcotics Drives’ independently as well as in close association with other sister agencies. For a long time there has been a thriving liquor trade going on in several bazar and chowmuhani in the Kalyanpur police station area. From last night, under the direction of Kalyanpur police station officer-in-charge Tapas Malakar, SI Anjan Debbarma, SI Pritam Datta, SI Premjit Roy and other policemen and TSRs of the police station out on a special operation.

In this operation, a total of 10 people including liquor sellers and consumers who were in a disorderly condition on the streets were arrested to the police station. It can be said that Kalyanpur Police has achieved great success in these few days. The 10 arrested are- Samir Sutradhar (45) Gopalnagar, Sourabh Paul (27) Kalyanpur, Bimal Biswas (65) Moharchhara, Matilal Sarkar (60) Moharchhara, Kanu Debnath (48) Kamalnagar, Shibcharan Barma (58) Amar Colony, Subhash Deb (58) Amar Colony, Chandrakanta Barma (48) Amar Colony, Sanjib Paul (36) Agartala Subhashpalli, Jatindra Shil (32) Kalyanpur. Regarding today’s special operation, police of Kalyanpur police station said that the 10 people arrested will be dealt with according to law. In addition, the officer in charge of the police station also said that such special operations will continue continuously.
