KVK Gomati Conducted Khet Bachao Abhiyan.       

Amarpur, Tripura, 4th of November 2026 : With the initiative of KVK Gomati in collaboration with DDA, Gomati a motivational Khet Bachao Abhiyan programme has been organized here in Chataria Gram Panchayat in Tepania Gomati Tripura today. On this occasion official dignitaries from agriculture, KVK Gomati staff, cultivators and many others have assembled here in the programme venue and took participation in the event. In presence of many dignitaries the union agri. minister Ram Nath Thakur has inaugurated the programme. Aiming to generate awareness over the Khet Bachao Abhiyan mission the union minister Ram Nath Thakur has addressed the gathering and said, “Khet Bachao Abhiyan means “Save the Fields Campaign”. It is a nationwide campaign launched by the Government of India under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to protect agricultural land, improve soil fertility and promote sustainable farming.

The campaign was launched by Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Main objectives of Khet Bachao Abhiyan are to protect soil health, prevent soil degradation and maintain soil fertility, balanced use of fertilisers, avoid excessive use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides, promote natural farming, encourage organic manure and biological products, Save water, promote water conservation and rainwater harvesting as well as Increase farmers’ income, encourage scientific and cost-effective farming, crop iversification, motivate cultivation of pulses, oilseeds and horticultural crops. It focuses over protection the environment and discourage crop-residue burning. The nationwide Khet Bachao Abhiyan–Rabi 2026 campaign is being conducted from 22 October to 30 November 2026. This Khet Bachao Abhiyan is creating essential knowledge amidst farmers regarding  protection agricultural land for future generations. It helps farmers to improves the quality of soil and reduces unnecessary farming expenses.

Inspire farmers to promote healthy food production as well as strengthens farmers’ livelihoods. Khet Bachao Abhiyan programmes encourage cultivators to comprehend environmentally friendly agriculture.”

He more added stating that the main message of Khet Bachao Abhiyan is “Save Soil, Save Agriculture, Save Farmers.” Mr. Ram Nath Thakur has inaugurated different stalls of KVKs department of agriculture, FPO, FPC etc. Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Ram Prasad Jamatia, guest of honour, Dr. Phani Bhushan Jamatia, director of agriculture & farmers welfare, Dr. A.K Mohanty, director of ICAR, ATARI Umium, Ranadhir Sharma, senior scientist, KVK, Gomati and many others remained present in the programme.
