Large Areas Of The Hills Are Gradually Being Deforested Due To Forest Bandits.

Teliamura, 11th of May, 2024 : Large areas of hills including Hathai Kotor (Baramura) and Hacwk Berem (Atharamura) are being gradually destroyed due to the open rampage of a class of forest bandits. A group of forest bandits are relentlessly clearing forests in the darkness of night and day to protect their interests. And in many places forest bandits are seen openly setting fire to forest trees. As a result, people’s lives are disrupted in this summer’s intense heat, the balance of nature is disturbed, some wild animals are disappearing from their habitats and some animals are entering the locality. These incidents do not go unnoticed by various nature-loving organizations and administration officials including the forest department, everything is happening in front of everyone.

On the other hand, according to the sources of Teliamura Sub-divisional Forest Department, some forest bandits are filling the pockets of forest department officials starting from Ranger with cash every month to continue this forest destruction. As a result, the forest department personnel are pretending not to see everything. On the other hand, Shri Animesh Debbarma, the former leader of the opposition and the present minister of the State Government, is currently serving as the Minister of Forest Department of the state. Now it is also to be seen whether Minister can take any action against forest bandits.
