Khowai, Tripura, 24th of August, 2026 : As heavy rain continued at around 10 PM on Saturday (22nd August, 2026) night, lightning struck the house of Subrata Deb in East Ganki, Khowai with a powerful sound. The sudden strike left the family frightened and caused damage to the property.
As a result of the lightning strike, two trees were damaged, while electrical and electronic appliances in the house were also destroyed.
Fortunately, none of the family members suffered any injuries. He initially estimated that the lightning strike may have caused property damage worth around ₹20,000–₹25,000. He told us that he and his family members were extremely frightened by the incident.
