Lok Sabha Election-2024 : Zero Pendency Of Complaints : Returning Officer, 1-Tripura West PC.

Agartala, 14th of April, 2024 : There exists no pending complaint with the Returning officer for 1-West Tripura Parliamentary Constituency. Stating these through a Press Note Dr. Vishal Kumar, Returning Officer for 1-Tripura West Parliamentary Constituency informed that as on 14/4/24, total 64 complaints were received out of which all were acted upon in the most stringent manner.

With relation to a lodged complain on earlier day for taking part in a political campaign, Sri Pradip Kumar Ghosh, Pharmacist, IGM has been placed under suspension by the parent department after due enquiry. In regards to another complaint against polling personnel pertaining to home voting of absentee voters on 10/4/2024 at Sector 6 under 6- Agartala Assembly constituency, taking into account of submitted non-satisfactory explanation with respect to issued show cause notice, proposal has been sent to respective parent department for suspension of two polling officials. Further, with respect to a press clipping in “Syandan Patrika” regarding setting up of temporary booth office for election campaign on private land, the matter has been enquired by ARO, 4-Barjala AC. Post enquiry, it was found that prior permission of the private landowner was taken for setting up the temporary booth office. Due process was followed as per the MCC Manual and minutes of political party meeting circulated vide No. F.VII (50)/DEO/DM/W/ELEC/2024/760 dated 17.03.2024. Regarding received 26 complaints on CVIGIL citizens App so far, all have been disposed swiftly. One complaint was received on 14/4/24 related to posters and banners without permission in 8- Town Bordowali, which was acted upon within few minutes by the Flying Squad Team (FST).

The R.O. is taking proactive actions to ensure zero violations of MCC and law and order. Strict surveillance is maintained through Static Surveillance Teams and Flying Squad Teams to ensure zero violation of rules. The teams are quickly responding to all the complaints raised by the citizens and the political parties. The District Administration and the Police are constantly surveying the situation and ensuring strict maintenance of law and order. 24*7 surveillance is there on all the Naka points. Regular flag marches are held to ensure law and order. All the officers are proactively assessing the situation and taking preventive actions to handle any mischievous elements. Strict vigilance is over all the areas of the constituency and stringent action is taken as soon as any complaint is registered. The Administration assures a level playing field for all and a free and fair elections in Tripura.
