Agartala, Tripura, 16th of July 2026 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police, in joint operations with 81th BN BSF and 11th BN TSR conducted raid and search at Kamalnagar Ghatighar deep forest under Sonamura PS and recovered 362.100 Kg Dry Cannabis (Ganja) on Wednesday (15th July, 2026) last night.
According to sources, Sonamura Police last night from 0030 hours to 0530 hours conducted raid and search at Kamalnagar Ghatighar deep forest under Sonamura PS and recovered total 11 nos. plastic drum with full of dry Ganja, where found in total 362.100 Kg dry ganja.
A large-scale destruction operation was conducted under Sonamura Police station leading by Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station covering with support from 81 BN BSF and 11th BN TSR.
The destination market value of the seized ganja is approximately to be 72 Lakhs 40 thousand only.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that Sonamura police has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal seizes ganja.
OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
