Major General Anurag Vij, ADG NCC Directorate NER, Meets Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.

Agartala, 19 September 2026: Major General Anurag Vij, Additional Director General (ADG), NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region (NER), met Dr. Manik Saha, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, on 19 September 2026. The meeting was attended by Brigadier Anand Raj Singh, Group Commander, Silchar Group, and Colonel N. S. Baath, Commanding Officer, 13 Tripura Battalion NCC.

The meeting focused on strengthening and expanding the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in Tripura and enhancing opportunities for the state’s youth through structured training, national integration and nation-building activities.

Key Focus Areas Discussed

1. Strengthening NCC through National-Level Integration Camps
   The importance of organising National-Level Integration Camps in Agartala was discussed to provide cadets from different parts of the country an opportunity to interact, understand diverse cultures and strengthen the spirit of national unity and integration.
2. Expansion of NCC Activities in Remote Areas
   Emphasis was placed on taking NCC activities to remote and rural areas of Tripura, enabling young people from these regions to benefit from NCC training, discipline, leadership development, social service and national integration programmes.
3. Expansion of NCC Footprint in Tripura
   The meeting also discussed possibilities for expanding NCC coverage across the state, including increasing the number of institutions and cadets and developing the NCC infrastructure and activities in Tripura.
4. Military Training and Adventure Activities
   The role of NCC in providing cadets with opportunities in military training, adventure activities, trekking, camps and leadership-oriented programmes was highlighted. Such activities help cadets develop discipline, teamwork, confidence and a spirit of adventure.
5. Career Guidance and Nation-Building
   The importance of providing career guidance and awareness about opportunities in the Armed Forces and other career avenues was discussed. NCC continues to provide young people with exposure to discipline, leadership, teamwork and community service, contributing to their overall development and participation in nation-building. The Chief Minister has also recently highlighted the role of youth and voluntary service in building a stronger society.
6. Support from the State Government
   The meeting also focused on the importance of continued support and cooperation from the State Government for strengthening NCC activities, expanding its reach and facilitating training, camps and youth-development programmes across Tripura.

The interaction highlighted the shared importance of empowering the youth of Tripura through discipline, leadership, adventure, social responsibility and national integration. Strengthening NCC in the state is expected to create greater opportunities for young people to participate in constructive activities and contribute to society and the nation.

The meeting marked an important interaction towards further strengthening NCC–State Government cooperation and expanding the reach of NCC across Tripura.
