Dharmanagar, Tripura, 1st of February, 2026 : On Sunday, the police carried out a major operation in Muslim Para, Ward No. 2 under the Bhagyapur Gram Panchayat area of Dharmanagar police station and seized a large quantity of narcotic substances. Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid at the house of notorious drug trafficker Kala Mia, leading to the successful recovery. According to police sources, the operation was carried out in the presence of the DCM Sir’s official mobile team, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dharmanagar police station, along with several other police officials. The police had been keeping the area under surveillance for a long time following repeated complaints of drug trafficking activities.

During the raid conducted on Sunday morning based on specific intelligence, a thorough search of the house led to the recovery of approximately 50 grams of heroin and an estimated 4,000 yaba tablets. However, sensing the presence of the police, the notorious accused Kala Mia managed to flee from his house before the raid. Police officials stated that the process of registering cases against him under multiple sections of the law has already been initiated. Following the operation, tension and excitement spread throughout the locality, while local residents welcomed and appreciated the police action. Dharmanagar police further informed that efforts to arrest the absconding accused have been intensified, and the police administration is hopeful that he will be apprehended very soon.
