Dharmanagar, Tripura, 1st of February, 2026 : The 649th sacred birth anniversary of Shri Shri Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji was observed with due reverence and dignity on Sunday in the Dharmanagar subdivision of North Tripura, conveying a strong message of religious and social harmony. The programme was organized by the Ravidas Development Association, Dharmanagar (Ravidas Samaj), and witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees and members of the wider society, creating a festive atmosphere from the early hours of the day.The main attraction of the celebration was a colourful procession that highlighted the ideals of Guru Ravidas —equality, humanity, and social justice.

The procession passed through several important roads of Dharmanagar, with participants carrying banners, festoons, and religious flags while appealing for peace and unity.Among those present at the event was Bagbassa Assembly constituency MLA Jadbala Nath, along with several other distinguished guests. Addressing the gathering, the speakers stated that the philosophy of Guru Ravidas Ji remains equally relevant even today. They emphasized that following his ideals is essential to eliminate discrimination from society and to establish human values.Representatives of various religious and social organizations, eminent personalities, and respected members of the Ravidas community were also present at the programme.The celebration concluded with religious discourses, bhajans, and a spiritually charged atmosphere.
