National Road Safety Month Observed At BBM College, Agartala.

Agartala, Tripura, 8th of June 2026 : The Department of NCC, BBM College, Agartala, organized a programme on the occasion of National Road Safety Month on 08 June 2026 at Room No. 305 of the college. The programme aimed to create awareness among students and NCC cadets regarding safe road practices and responsible citizenship.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Captain (Dr.) Samir Kumar Diabagh, Head of the Department of NCC, who emphasized the importance of road safety awareness among youth and highlighted the role of NCC cadets in promoting traffic discipline in society.

Dr. Rupak Das, Secretary, Teachers’ Council, BBM College, addressed the gathering and stressed the need for adherence to traffic rules for preventing road accidents and saving lives.

The highlight of the programme was an informative lecture delivered by officials of the Tripura Traffic Police Department, including DySP (Traffic) Manoj Kumar Debbarma and Traffic Inspector Mr. Chiranjit Chowdhury. They discussed various road safety measures, traffic regulations, the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, and the dangers of overspeeding and distracted driving. A practical demonstration on road safety and traffic management was also demonstrated by Traffic officer Subir Deb, which received enthusiastic participation from the students and NCC cadets.

In his presidential address, Dr. Mihir Pal, Principal, BBM College, appreciated the initiative and urged students to become responsible road users and ambassadors of road safety in their communities.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Lt. TapanjyotiMalakar, who expressed gratitude to the guest speakers, faculty members, and participants for making the programme successful.

The event witnessed active participation from NCC cadets, faculty members, and students of BBM College and served as an effective platform for spreading awareness about road safety and accident prevention.

DrSayan Chowdhury, Associate Professor, Department of English anchored the entire programme beautifully. Senior Officials HavaldarRajan Rai & Havildar RanjanNath from 13 Tripura BN NCC office were also present to motivate the cadets in the said programme
