Amarpur, Tripura, 15th of August 2026 : With the initiative of Ompi Nagar RD block a mega independence day celebration cum toppers felicitation programme has been conducted here in Ompi Nagar RD block premises, Amarpur Gomati Tripura on Saturday (15th August, 2026).
On this occasion a large number of officials dignitaries from different sectors, block staffs, students, parents and local villagers have assembled here in the programme venue and took active participation in the celebration. Under the able guidance and supervision of Ompi block BDO Ruatfela Darlong the event was constituted with different kinds of programme segments. Through singing the National Anthem and hoisting the National flag by Ampi 41 constituency MLA Pathan Lal Jamatia the event has been initiated.
On this auspicious occasion Ampi 23 constituency MDC Kamal Kalai has addressed the student participants and said, “Independence Day, celebrated annually on August 15 in India, marks the historic end of British colonial rule in 1947 and the birth of a free, sovereign nation. It is a vital national occasion that honors the sacrifices of freedom fighters, unites diverse communities, and renew the collective commitment to democratic values and civic duty. It commemorates freedom from nearly 200 years of British control. We recollect and honor those brave leaders and fighters who gave their lives for liberty. This national festival brings people together; unites citizens across different states, languages, and cultures under one flag.
It fosters a deep sense of patriotism and shared identity. It encourages the younger generation to learn history and value democracy. This great day teaches us that rights and responsibilities go hand in hand; focuses on nation-building, growth, and protecting hard-won freedom.”
On this auspicious occasion Ampi block has felicitated many achievers by giving them letter of appreciation and trophies. The patriotic cultural programme presented by the school students has made the event more fascinating. Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were N.B Reang, SDPO, Ampi, Rathindra Debbarma, ZDO, Mata Rai Reang I.S and many others remained present in the programme.
