Parents Lock School Protesting Teacher Shortage In Khowai.

Khowai, 8th of January, 2024 : Parents of  Biplabi Suryasen Vidyamandir JB School locket the school’s main gate, sat in front of it and blocked roads, demanding immediate action addressing shortage of teacher.

The incident took place at Biplabi Suryasen Vidyamandir JB School in Jabbar Tila area under Khowai District on Monday (8th January, 2024). According to the reports, there are more than fifty students in the lower primary school of Biplabi Suryasen Vidyamandir JB School. Only one teacher currently managing students of around fifty. Compared to that, the problem of the teacher in the school has been for a long time. Even earlier, after the parents locked the school, Inspector of School Prabin Kumar Debbarma of the school in Khowai promised to solve the problem within seven days. But he could not keep the word accordingly. The parents were forced to protest by locking the main gate of the school. Later they were forced to block the Khowai- Champahour road.

Due to the blockade, led to a major traffic jam in the area. Inspector of School Prabin Kumar Debbarma, Pradhan Sushanta Debnath, prominent Social activist Bijoy Kumar Debnath and other officials rushed to Khowai’s school. The school inspector gave a written assurance that a new teacher would be sent to this school tomorrow. And another teacher will be assigned to the school in the next few days. After this assurance, the parents unlocked the main gate of the school and withdraw block the Khowai- Champahour road.
