Aiming to generate better income source amidst the poor section of the state the TRPCL has Initiated mega Agar project implementation across the state of Tripura. Under the able guidance & supervision of the TRPC chairman PK Jamatia this mega Institutionally plantation project initiation programme has been organized in Trishabari village under Teliamura subdivision. On this auspicious occasion Pravin L Agarwal, IFS, Addl PCCF, Akshay Balu Bhorde, IFS, DFO, Khowai, Santosh Debbarma, deputy manager, HQ TRPC, Subrata Das, deputy manager, TRPC, Capt. G.S Rathee and many other dignitaries have taken active part in the programme.
As per the TRPC chairman PK Jamatia, department has taken initiative to plant 50000 Agar saplings across the state of Tripura. TRPCL has embarked on an ambitious mission across the state which has started from Teliamura under Khowai district on 9th of September 2023. This historic endeavour marks the first ever institutional plantation initiative of its kind in India and is set to revolutionize sustainable forestry practices in the region towards economic empowerment of the tribal. Due to ignorance of the rural people this profitable project has been forlorn till the date. Now TRPC authority is motivating the rural people and creating awareness over the project. Agar is compared with liquid gold which is a precious natural resource with numerous applications including perfumery and pharmaceuticals.
In the Institutionally initiation programme of Agar Plantation in Trishabari, Teliamura PK Jamatia, TRPC chairman said, “Aiming to generate durable income source amidst the poor farmers our this grand mission has been initiated in Tripura. Our mission extends beyond the plantation drive; it aims to improve the sustainability of beneficiaries livelihood by integrating Agar cultivation into their lives thus paving a way towards inclusive development. This initiative will only safeguard our environment but also empower the people of Tripura economically. The TRPCL is committed towards socio economic empowerment of the tribal communities in Tripura.”
