Preparatory Meeting Of DoNER Ministry’s High Level Task Force State Has Immense Prospects Of Investment : Chief Minister.

Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of April 2025 : As the state has a developed and better connectivity now, it has immense prospects of investment. Investors should be encouraged to invest in rubber, Agar, pineapple and bamboo based industries. As such, this matter should be focused more to attract the investors. Today while addressing the preparatory meeting of the Ministry of DoNER’s High Level Task Force at the secretariat, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha stated this. At the meeting the Chief Minister said, various sectors have prospects of investment in the state. In this context each and every department should be working with a definite plan. The state government has been focusing on Land Reforms and Ease of Doing Business to provide different facilities to the investors.

At the meeting the Chief Minister also said, tourism is one such sector that can have massive investment. So it should be brought into limelight more and more. The facilities available for the investors in the state, should also be highlighted to the investors. Recently the state government had signed a number of MoUs with several companies. But after that our focus should be on implementation of those MoUs.

Chief secretary J.K. Sinha and secretaries of various departments also highlighted different aspects of investment. Kiran Gitte, secretary of the Sushason department presented a report on investment prospects of the Northeastern states. It is noteworthy that it was decided in the 72nd Plenary meeting of the NEC held at Agartala on December 21, 2024, that this High Level Task Force would be constituted. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha is acting as the Convener of this Task Force. This Task Force would submit a road map on how to encourage investment in the Northeast to the concerned ministry by September this year. This road map will contain briefing on environment for investment in the Northeastern states, evaluation of infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, logistics, IT, PPP model etc. Additionally recommendation for policy level reforms, implementation of sectoral growth plan etc. initiatives.
