New Delhi, Delhi, 2nd of August, 2026 : The Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has congratulated Gulveer Singh on winning the Bronze medal in the Men’s 5000m event at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.
The Prime Minister said that with this remarkable performance, Gulveer Singh became the first Indian athlete to win two athletics medals at a single Commonwealth Games. He also noted that Gulveer Singh is the first Indian to win a Commonwealth Games medal in the Men’s 5000m event.

Shri Modi described the achievement as a landmark moment for Indian athletics and extended his best wishes to Gulveer Singh.
