Railway Police Seizes Cannabis, Arrested 1 Drug Peddlers In Agartala Railway Station.

Agartala, Tripura, 14th of October, 2025 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Tuesday (14th October, 2025). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested One (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized a total of 22.960 Kg dry cannabis (Ganja). He wanted to take it to other state by train using Agartala railway station.

According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala, at about 6 PM managed to catch one person namely Purushottam Kumar Mahto (45), S/O- Lt. Saryug  Mahto Of Chitrasenpur, PO+PS- Sonepur District- Saran, State- Bihar. During his search GRP & RPF of Agartala recovered two pitthu bags from his possession which containing total 22.960 Kg purported to be contraband Ganja. The value of this Ganja is Rs- 5 Lakh approx in black market. GRP & RPF of Agartala arrested him from Agartala Railway station platform no-01 and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2025GRP103, U/S-20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
