Rally On HIV/AIDS Awareness Held At Bishramganj Under Intensified IEC Campaign By Village Development Team, Tripura.

Bishramganj, Tripura, 16th of October, 2025 : As part of the Intensified IEC Awareness Campaign, a rally on HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention was successfully organized today by the Village Development Team (VDT), Tripura. The rally commenced from the Bishramganj PHC Complex and passed through key locations including Bishramganj Stand, Master Para, and concluded at Bishramganj School.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 300 individuals, including local residents, youth volunteers, students, healthcare workers, NGO representatives, and other community members. The rally aimed to promote awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention, reduction of stigma, and to encourage community participation in public health initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Deep Debbarma, representing the Chief Medical Officer, along with Dr. Puja Deb, Medical Officer In-Charge, Bishramganj PHC, and Ms. Bharati Chakraborty, Founder Secretary of Village Development Team, inaugurated and took active part in the rally.

It is noteworthy that the CCTI Project for the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS among high-risk populations has been effectively implemented by the Village Development Team across various parts of West Tripura and Sepahijala District, with support from the Tripura State AIDS Control Society (TSACS). Currently, there are over 1,000 high-risk individuals identified and actively engaged under the project in Sepahijala District.

In continuation of the day’s activities, a Bike Rally on HIV/AIDS Awareness was also organized from Bishramganj to Agartala, led by the CCTI Project staff, under the leadership of the Project Manager, VDT-CCTI Project. All project personnel participated in the event with great enthusiasm and commitment to the cause.

The awareness initiatives by the Village Development Team underscore the continuous efforts of community-based organizations in supporting public health missions and strengthening the state’s collective fight against HIV/AIDS.
