Sabroom, Tripura, 12th of September, 2025 : According to sources approx 6 crores cost recovered the construction road in Damdama to Chatakchhari via Durganagar, Sabroom under South Tripura district. The project, including a total of Seven (7) culverts, was completed on January 11, 2025. It was supervised by NH Division PWD Baikhora, Santirbazar, under South Tripura district. But after just eight months, the road seems to be collapsing. The asphalt layer comes off with a slight poke with a stick. The locals complain that during construction, no rules were followed in the GSB, SGSB, WMS layer, and even the bitumen layer. As a result, the road is gradually taking on the appearance of erosion.
Not only the road, but cracks have also appeared in the culvert. In each case, the picture is the same – poor quality work, corruption and irregularities. Allegations of collusion against contractors and engineers. Locals alleged the construction quality roads and culverts are not good quality. In many locations they have been collapsed. The locals demand that an immediate investigation be conducted and strict action be taken against the culprits.
