The Reang villagers of Salka Para under Ampi Cherra VC of Ampinagar RD block, Gomati Tripura have staged road blockade here on Teliamura to Amarpur road at Ampinagar today (29th September, 2022). Demanding immediate revocation of Salka Para road from Gamaku to Salka Para about 4 km distance which is most important for the Reang villagers’ daily movement is dilapidated condition for last many years. Sources said that this Salka Para road is totally damaged and it needs immediate maintenance. One box culvert of the road is collapsed state for last many years. The full distance of the road is broken, full of potholes and side collapsed. During raining time this road turns into death trap.
The poor Reang villagers of Salka Para are facing very disturbance for this horrible road communication. In the same way the deprived Reang villagers are the worst victims of drinking water amenity. Since the monarchy system they are fully dependent on natural water sources. They do not have supply water management till the date. Due to utility of germy drinking water they fall sick regularly but the administration does not care for this Reang community. Today a large number of Reang men and women have gathered in the road blockade here at Ampi and raised their voice over the democratic fundamental rights. The blockade lasted much time. Then later on SDO of PWD & DWS along with SDPO of Ampi PS have rushed to the spot and tried to console the excited villagers but failed. Later on the SDM of Amarpur has come to interact with the villagers and given them words for quick initiative of road renovation as well as drinking water management. Afterwards the blockade has been withdrawn.
