Researchpreneur – Incubation Program SPRINT “North-East Edition”.

NIT Agartala NIT Agartala has successfully accomplished the Researchpreneur – Incubation Program Strategic Program for Research Innovation and Next-GenTech Commercialisation (SPRINT) “North-East Edition”  in Association with IIT Ropar at NIT Agartala .

There had been large number of submissions for the  SPRINT program from all over India, after rigorous multi stage evaluation only 6 tech commercialization submissions have been selected for grant in support. Winners have received more than Rs. 23 lakhs of Grant for research, innovation and Startup.  

The company founder and CEO of CUBOBots  Ms. Rapti Chaudhuri , the founder of Atkalapa Biotechnology LLP Mr. Ever Bright Chakma along with 2 more research idea  from Tripura have qualified for total grant of Rs 12 lakhs.

The SPRINT is a research-preneur incubation program for those entering the startup ecosystem, supporting ICPS research ideas in DeepTech, hardware, and software R&D. The faculty coordinator of SPRINT “North-East Edition”  from NIT Agartala, Dr. Suman Deb has expressed the potential of collaboration with IIT Ropar and also said such  researchpreneur initiatives will open new opportunities for youths in the state and NE region.

SPRINT accelerates research ideas of innovators, researchers, and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in building startups or seeking support for Tech commercialisation. It offers resources, mentoring, lab access, funding, and international collaborations, emphasizing innovation, development, and tech commercialization.

The North Eastern States of India hold immense untapped potential in terms of human resources, natural wealth, and economic opportunities. However, the unique geographical location of Northeast India, marked by its picturesque landscapes and diverse ecosystems has contributed to a distinct set of opportunities. The (SPRINT) “North-East Edition” has been organised here at NIT Agartala first time under the IIT Ropar Technology & Innovation Foundation (iHub – AWaDH) as an initiative of the Department of Science &Technology, Government of India.
