Amarpur, Tripura,17th of February 2025 : The Kaipeng families living in Dakmura village at Tuidu under Ampi Nagar RD block are in dilemma condition now. They are the worst victim of road and water. About six months their main road from Palku road to Dakmura village Church about 1.5 km distance is blocked by landslide and culvert collapse. No vehicle two wheelers or four wheelers can move on this road.
Due to not having road communication management after that previous mega flood villagers are in distress; They are climbing very high mountain to come to Taidu, Ampi Nagar and Teliamura which is very troublesome and risky. During emergency cases like delivery or patient carrying to hospital their sufferings knows no bounds. Children, students and old citizens are the worst victim of road communication in this village. Three local villagers Dhanhowsom Kaipeng, Rowthanglal Kaipeng and Amnailal Kaipeng have raised strong allegation over the concerned authority for not taking any initiative to remove the sufferings of the deprived indigenous Kaipeng villagers. After being many times appealing the Kaipeng inhabitants of the village became tired.
One senior citizen of the village said, “During the mega flood time big landslide had fallen on our road and blocked it. Since then we are in great obstacle for road communication but the concerned authority did not take any initiative to remove the blockade nor to renovate the road distance. Last six months we are screaming for our village road maintenance but no administrative authority has come to observe our village condition or interacted with us over our fundamental democratic demand. Our DWS project is inactive since the initiation. This defective project is unable to provide water to the villagers. If sometimes it provide water it is not usable, muddy water is coming which is not suitable for drinking nor bathing.”
Sources said that the village needs a perfect DWS project in Dakmura village to meet the water requirements of the entre village. In addition villagers demanded two box culverts that had been collapsed during previous flood. The innocent deprived Kaipeng people have claimed immediate road renovation implementation otherwise in coming monsoon they will face dangerous situation for movement.
