1st State Level FPO Organized By Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Department Government of Tripura.

Agartala, Tripura, 17th of February, 2025 : With the initiative of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Department Government of Tripura ‘1st State Level FPO Mela’ organized at Purbasha Fair ground, Agartala, Tripura on Monday (17th February, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated the 1st State Level FPO Mela (Farmers’ Producers Organization) by lighting the ceremonial Lamp.

Addressing at the inaugural ceremony of 1st State Level FPO Fair Hon’ble Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that The Government is working for the welfare of women, youth, farmers and the poor sections of the State. The Prime Minister has given priority to the welfare of the people of this section. The State Government’s goal is to build a developed Tripura with the cooperation of the people of all sections.

“FPO (Farmers’ Producers Organization) is an organization formed by farmers. Farmers come together in FPO and manage their agricultural production, processing and marketing and business activities. Its main objective is to improve the financial condition of farmers. Increase productivity and sell crops at fair prices in the market. The central government launched a scheme in 2020 for the formation and development of Farmer Producers Organizations. Presently 58 FPOs in 58 districts in the state. 10,434 farmers in the state are working under the FPOs. He said that during the previous Government, the monthly income of farmers was about ₹ 6,580. Presently, the income of farmers has increased to ₹ 13,590.”, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister added.

Addressing the gathering the Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister mentioned the implementation of various schemes by the state Government to increase the income of farmers. In this regard, he mentioned the implementation of schemes like Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), distribution of agricultural machinery, soil testing, crop insurance scheme,Krishak Bandhu Kendra etc.

Dr. Phani Bhusan Jamatia, Directorate of horticulture & Soil Conservation Department of Agriculture Govt. of Tripura delivered the welcome speech at the event. Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder, Hon’ble MP and Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajib Bhattacharjee and many other dignitaries were present in the inauguration ceremony.
