Dharmanagar, Tripura, 2nd of July 2026 : The Panisagar Sub-Division Committee of the Rubber Producers’ Association submitted a memorandum to the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Panisagar RD Block in North Tripura, seeking a permanent solution to several long-standing issues faced by rubber growers.

The memorandum highlighted a number of key demands aimed at improving the welfare of rubber cultivators. These include increased government assistance for the expansion of rubber plantations, free distribution of fertilizers and pesticides, implementation of renovation and rehabilitation programmes for old rubber plantations, monthly allowances for rubber growers above the age of 55, government procurement of rubber sheets, issuance of permits to all rubber growers, and inclusion of all rubber cultivators under pension and ration schemes.
The association also demanded that landless and homeless rubber growers who have not yet received permanent housing be provided houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). In addition, they urged the government to include genuine farmers in the official beneficiary lists.Representatives of the Rubber Producers’ Association stated that immediate intervention by the administration is essential to safeguard the rights and ensure the financial security of rubber growers.
They appealed to the BDO to consider their demands at the earliest and take the necessary steps for their implementation.Among those present during the submission of the memorandum were association members Dhananjay Nath, Abinash Das, Anil Kanta Das, Motilal Das, and several other members.
