Agartala, Tripura, 14th of May 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Thursday (14th May, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) women drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 16.530 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, Tripura Railway Police at about 3.30 PM catch two women namely i) Smt. Prima Debbarma (32), W/O-Lt. Subrata Debbarma of Lefunga in front of Bazar, PS- Lefunga, West District, Tripura and ii) Smt. Chikanti @ Mamata Debbarma (27), W/O- Sri Saral @ Ajay Debbarma, of Lefunga in front of Bazar PS- Lefunga, West District, Tripura at Agartala Railway Station in Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 16.530 Kg purported to be contraband narcotic Ganja in their hand bags.
The value of this Ganja is Rs- 3 Lakh approx in black market. Accordingly we have arrested them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP032, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
