Agartala, Tripura, 4th of January, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Sunday (4th January, 2026). RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized a total of 24.685 Kg dry cannabis (Ganja).
According to the sources, at about 1 pm RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) person namely Biplab Debbarma (37), S/o – Rajkumar Debbarma of Daw Darani Para (Simna), PS- Sidhai, West District, Tripura and Sumangal Majumder (34), S/O – Nanigopal Majumder, Of Khring Khring, P/O Azarbari, PS- Kaki, Dist- Nagaon, Assam at Agartala Railway Station on platform no-01 near at & Use toilet along with total 24.685 Kg purported to be contraband Ganja in their bags respectively. The value of this Ganja is Rs- 4 lakh approximately in black market. Accordingly RPF & GRP detained them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP002, U/S-20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
