Agartala, Tripura, 21st of November, 2025 : With the initiative of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department Government of Tripura Two-day Seminar On Laws Of Legal Metrology Organized at Hote Polo Towers, Agartala, Tripura on Friday (21st November, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.

Addressing at the inaugural ceremony of two-day day Seminar On Laws Of Legal Metrology Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury stated that in daily life, it is very important for everyone, as a consumer, to be aware of the correct weight and measurement of any product. Consumers must be made more aware in this regard. He expressed hope that such discussion sessions will play an important role in making consumers more aware.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Director of the Central Consumer and Legal Metrology Department Ashutosh Agarwal, Director of the Indian Institute of Legal Metrology Dr. Rajeshwar Kumar, Director of Food, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs Sumit Lodh, Sub-Divisional Magistrates from various sub-divisions of the State, representatives of the Petroleum Dealers’ Association, representatives of the Tripura Merchant Association participated in the discussion session and many others remained present in the programme.
