Kolkata, 7th of April, 2024 : April 6 was the 94th Birth Anniversary of legendary actress of Bengali film Suchitra Sen. Suchitra Sen is an unforgettable name in Bengali film world. She was set himself apart forever through his acting skills, craft and unique personality. She has given timeless films to the Bengali film world.
With the initiative of the Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers Special Exhibition was organized, on the occasion of legendary actress of Bengali film Suchitra Sen’s 94th Birth Anniversary at Abanindranath Tagore Gallery, ICCR, Kolkata. The exhibition was inaugurated by Moon Moon Sen daughter of Suchitra Sen. Riya Sen, actress daughter of Moon Moon Sen, Shivam Tiwari, Sudipta Chanda, Surajit Kala, Rupak Saha, director of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers and many other dignitaries were present in the inauguration ceremony.
The original poster of the film starring Suchitra Sen has been kept in this exhibition. There are also photo booklets, song’s books. Suchitra Sen recorded music only once in her life. That record also features in this exhibition. Also includes magazines, cover ads, film stills. All in all a wonderful memory. Hence the name of this exhibition is ‘Suchitra‘. This exhibition, which started on the birthday, will continue till April 12. Exhibition will be open daily from 3 pm to 8 pm.
Moon Moon Sen and her daughter Riya Sen, thanked Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers for organizing and presenting the exhibition. Moon Moon Sen said, ‘The way Maa’s movie posters are presented in the exhibition is really incredible. My entire family is grateful to Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, for presenting Suchitra Sen to the new generation in this way. I am very happy to participate in this event on the occasion of mother’s birthday.’
Rupak Saha, director of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers, said, ‘ legendary actress still occupies a special place in our hearts. She is still alive in our hearts through his acting.’ He also added, ‘As a Jewellery manufacturing company we have been able to win people’s hearts, so we are not confined within the four walls of the showroom and are moving forward with such initiatives. Earlier also an exhibition was held in Tripura with the poster of Soumitra Chatterjee. We are determined to take more such initiatives in the coming days.’
