Sonamura, Tripura, 24th of November 2025 : Sonamura Police arrested one person under Arms Act at Sonamura on Sunday (23rd November, 2025) night. According to police, he has long involved in criminal activities and carrying illegal firearms, a sharp-edged knife.

According to police, On October 28 this year, firearms, a sharp-edged knife, and a Pulsar 150 bike bearing the number TR 07E 7211 were recovered on the To-Madhuban Road near Sonamura College. Based on this, a case was registered the same night at Sonamura Police Station against Sadik Miah, son of Ajid Miah, resident of Shibnagar Takshapara, under Melaghar Police Station, Sepahijala, Tripura. Although he fled the area that night, he was arrested late last night from his locality based on secret information.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station state that Sonamura Police interrogated him strictly, many more important details emerged from him. It is suspected that several more individuals from the Sonamura and Takshapara areas, who are to be involved in this case, may also be arrested. Today, he will be produced before the Court.
