Sonamura Tripura, 19th of June 2026 : In a successful operation against narcotics trafficking, Sonamura Police seized 21.3 kilograms of dried ganja hidden inside a drum at the residence of a suspected drug dealer in Rampada Para on Friday (19th June, 2026).
Police arrested the suspected drug peddler from his house following the recovery of the contraband. A case has been registered at Sonamura Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further legal proceedings are in progress.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that Sonamura police has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal seizes ganja.
OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
