Sonamura, Sepahijala, Tripura, 7th of August, 2026 : Sonamura police during patrolling duty recovered and seized total 44.5 kg dry Cannabis (Ganja) at Batadola border road, UNC Nagar border road and Fakiradola Border road side , Sonamura under Sepahijala District on Thursday (6th August, 2026).
According to sources, Sonamura Police Station during mobile duty at Batadola border road, UNC Nagar border road and Fakiradola Border road side recovered and seized total-44.5 Kg dry ganja. After that, it was seized following all legal formalities as unclaimed.
The destination market value of the seized ganja is approximately to be Eight Lakh ninety only.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that Sonamura police has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal seizes ganja.
OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
