Guwahati, Assam, 29th of May, 2025 : The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Guwahati organised an awareness programme today at New Guwahati Adarsh High School, Bamunimoidam, Guwahati. The event aimed to raise awareness about key Govt. campaigns such as Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, Swachhata Hi Seva, Nashamukt Bharat Abhiyan and Mission LiFE.
The Chief Guest of the event was Smt. Lipika Patowary, Councillor of Ward No. 53, Guwahati Municipal Corporation, while Shri Pranab Kumar Nath, Assistant Director, PIB, Guwahati and Smt. Himakshi Bayan, Assistant Teacher were present as guests of the program.
In his address, Shri Pranab Kumar Nath explained the purpose of such awareness programmes. He highlighted the Government of India’s initiatives aimed at the welfare of the common people and emphasized the role of the CBC in spreading awareness on important social and environmental issues.

Smt. Lipika Patowary spoke in detail about the importance of cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat & Nasha Mukt Bharat missions and encouraged everyone to adopt cleanliness as a daily habit. She appreciated the drama performance by the CBC’s PRT, which effectively communicated messages related to the event themes in an engaging manner.
Smt. Himakshi Bayan, Assistant Teacher, expressed her gratitude to the CBC for choosing their school to host such a meaningful programme and praised the efforts of the organisers.

As part of the event, a plantation programme under ‘ek ped maa ke naam’ was conducted in the school premises, where CBC officials and teaching staff actively participated. Additionally, a quiz competition held among the students and prizes were presented amongst the winners.
