Teliamura, 7th of July 2024 : Like other parts of the State, celebrated Ratha Yatra festival in the presence of devotees in Teliamura on Sunday (7th July, 2024). At around 3 pm on Sunday, devotees at Sri Krishna Chaitanya Ashram pulled the ropes of the chariot. The Ratha Yatra, also known as the Chariot Celebration of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra, is the most prominent Hindu festival.
Interacting with media, the devotees of Sri Krishna Chaitanya Ashram, Gonsai Ramananda Goswami, said that the traditional event Ratha Yatra of this ashram. This year the traditional Ratha Yatra ceremony is being held with great enthusiasm. He expressed grief over the tragic incident at last year’s Ratha Yatra. The chariot has been made this year keeping in mind the incident and following all the Government guidelines. He also appealed to all the devotees to observe the festival with safety precautions.
In order to avoid any untoward incident surrounding the Ratha Yatra and to ensure that it is conducted in accordance with the Government rules, two days ago Khowai District Magistrate & Collector, Chandni Chandran, Teliamura Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sirshendu Debbarma and Teliamura Municipal Chairman Rupak Sarkar along with senior police officials visited Teliamura Chaitanya Ashram. Visit the chariot. On this day, they also inspected the route of the chariot and spoke to the ashram committee.
