Mumbai, Maharashtra, 14th of May 2026 : The much-awaited teaser of romantic comedy-drama “Rajni Ki Baraat” has finally been unveiled, offering a delightful mix of romance, comedy, melodrama and strong desi entertainment. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Darbhanga, Bihar, the teaser introduces a refreshing and unusual story of a girl who takes out her own baraat to marry the man she loves.
Popular actress Ulka Gupta, known for her performances in “Jhansi Ki Rani” and “Kerala Story 2”, appears in a fierce yet emotional avatar as Rajni. The one-minute teaser begins with the announcement of a traditional Bihari-style Launda Naach in Darbhanga, instantly establishing the rooted cultural flavour of the film. Rajni’s impactful dialogue—“Humko Rajjan se shaadi karni hai”—perfectly captures the fearless spirit of her character. Adding a quirky comic layer, a background voice says, “Beta, story mein footage khaana band kariye,” bringing instant laughter and setting the fun tone of the film.
The teaser further hints at a romantic love triangle when actress Ishita Singh says, “Rajjan ji se milkar special toh laga.” Meanwhile, veteran actress Sunita Rajwar grabs attention with her impeccable comic timing as she hilariously shouts at the band players, “Kya ji, muh kya dekh rahe hain, bajaiye!” Energetic dance moments featuring Zarina Wahab and Sunita Rajwar further add colour, humour and desi charm to the teaser.
Within just one minute, the teaser successfully introduces the bold Rajni, chocolate-boy Kanishk, melodramatic Sunita Rajwar and stubborn Ashwath Bhatt, giving audiences a glimpse into a colourful world packed with emotions, humour and drama. A brief appearance of Ashwath Bhatt as a police officer delivering the intriguing line—“Love story bahut pyaara hai sir”—adds another entertaining layer to the narrative.
The teaser beautifully captures the essence of Bihari culture and small-town emotions while presenting them in a highly entertaining and commercial format, making “Rajni Ki Baraat” look like a complete family entertainer.
The film stars Ulka Gupta, Kanishk, Ishita Singh, Sunita Rajwar, Zarina Wahab and Ashwath Bhatt in prominent roles. Produced under the banner of Epiphany Entertainment, the film is produced by Tanaayaa Adarkar Prabhu and Tej H. Adarkar, while Aditya Aman has directed the movie. Mohsin Khan serves as the Associate Producer of the film.
Speaking at the teaser launch, Ulka Gupta shared, “Rajni is a girl who can go to any extent for her love. This character has emotions, comedy and madness all packed together. Rajni represents the spirit of a Bihar girl, and the mix of romance, emotions, comedy and drama makes this story extremely interesting.”
“Rajni Ki Baraat” is all set to release in cinemas on 29th May.
