The Front Of Auto Rickshaw In Municipal Corporation Area Will Be Pink Colour : Transport And Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.

Agartala, Tripura, 17th of June, 2025 : Hon’ble food, civil supplies & consumer affairs, transport and tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a meeting with officials of the transport department, home department and traffic department on 10th June, 2025 (Tuesday).  In the meeting, decisions were taken on various issues including traffic congestion in the Agartala municipal corporation area. Transport minister Sushanta Chowdhury presented these decisions to the media at a press conference organized at the press conference hall in the secretariat, Agartala today (17th June, 2025).

Transport minister remarked that, from now on, it has been decided to mark the auto rickshaw allowed in the Agartala municipal corporation area separately from the autos of other subdivisions. In that case, the front of the auto rickshaw in the municipal corporation area will have to be pink in colour. The colour of other auto rickshaw except those in the Agartala municipal corporation area will remain unchanged in that case.

“It Has Been Decided To Impose Some Rules And Regulations On The Entry Of Autos From Outside The Agartala Municipal Corporation Area With The Main Objective Of Avoiding Traffic Jams All Over In The Agartala City Area. However, If An Auto From Outside The Agartala Municipal Corporation Area Has To Enter The Municipal Area On An Urgent Basis, The Passengers Of The Auto Will Have To Show Appropriate Proof. For Example, In The Case Of Patients, The Doctor’s Prescription, I.E., For Medical Treatment At The Hospital, And For Passengers Going To The Airport, The Passengers Will Have To Show Their Air Tickets, Etc.” Transport Minister Added.

At The Press Conference The Transport Minister Urged Auto Owners To Paint The Front Of The Municipal Corporation Autos Pink Soon. He Said That From Now On, All Auto Rickshaw  Owners Will Have To Display Route Permits On Their Autos And No One Will Be Able To Violate The Prescribed Permits. If Any Auto Driver Transports Passengers Elsewhere Without The Permit Obtained From The State Transport Authority, Strict Vigilance And Legal Action Will Be Taken Against Him, The Transport Minister Said.

The Transport Minister State That It Has Been Noticed That Some Privately Registered Vehicles Are Carrying Students, Teachers And Office Workers Of Various Schools. All Those Vehicles Do Not Have Any Commercial License. Due To This, The Safety Of The School Students Is At Risk. Therefore, A Notice Will Be Issued To The School Authorities To Inform Them That Only Commercially Licensed Vehicles Should Be Used In This Case.

Transport Minister Sushant Chowdhury, Through A Press Conference, Urged Every Private Car Owner Whose Car Is Attached To A School To Immediately Change Their Car License To A Commercial License. The Transport Minister Also Urged Autos Outside The Agartala Municipal Corporation Area To Follow The Government’s Decisions.
