Agartala, Tripura, 13th of June, 2026 : No form of disorder or disruption will be tolerated at the Techno Knowledge Campus, Maheshkhola, Agartala. Any attempt to spread false and defamatory information against Techno India University, Tripura (TIUT) will invite action in accordance with law. The Techno India Group remains firmly committed to preserving a healthy academic environment and ensuring quality higher education.

Recently, the University has taken note of the circulation of false and misleading information about TIUT on social media platforms. Such campaigns seek not only to malign the University but also to tarnish the image of the State Government and the local administration. In addition to targeting the institution, attempts have also been made to target and discredit certain faculty members through false allegations and misleading narratives. It is unfortunate that some unruly students of the University have also become associated with these activities. The apparent objective of such campaigns is to derive political mileage by discrediting the State Government. Keeping in mind the reputation of the University, the dignity of its faculty members and the future of its students, Techno India has been compelled to adopt a policy of zero tolerance towards such activities.

The Government of Tripura has been actively working towards the development of modern higher education infrastructure in the State. With this objective, legislation was enacted to facilitate the establishment of universities by reputed private educational groups, including the Techno India Group. In accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, the Techno India Group has established and continues to operate the University while maintaining its reputation and academic standards.

The University’s academic programmes are conducted with the approval and recognition of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Bar Council of India (BCI), the Health and Family Welfare Department and other competent authorities. TIUT has also been accorded recognition under the Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India.

Inspired by the vision of Shri Satyam Roychowdhury, Founder of the Techno India Group and Chancellor of the University, Techno India seeks to build an internationally benchmarked higher education ecosystem in Tripura by bringing together distinguished academicians and experts from both within and outside the State. Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha, a distinguished son of the soil of Tripura, the University continues its efforts to create a vibrant academic environment through the combined contributions of faculty members from Tripura as well as renowned academics and experts from other parts of India.

Recently, false reports regarding an alleged ragging incident at the University have been published. In full compliance with UGC Anti-Ragging Regulations, TIUT had constituted its Anti-Ragging Committee well in advance. One of the members of the Committee is Mr. Pranab Sarkar, President of the Agartala Press Club. Investigations conducted by the University’s Anti-Ragging Committee, as well as inquiries by the State Higher Education Department and the District Anti-Ragging Committee, established that no such incident of ragging had taken place. Despite this, attempts continue to be made to malign the Techno Knowledge Campus, target members of its faculty and discredit the efforts being undertaken by the State Government to strengthen higher education in Tripura. The University authorities remain firmly committed to taking appropriate measures against such misinformation campaigns and ensuring that the academic environment remains undisturbed.

The State Government has created significant opportunities for students to pursue higher education within Tripura itself and is working towards establishing the State as an education hub. Students now have access to quality higher education without having to leave the State. Through institutions such as TIUT, young people in Tripura are gaining access to advanced and career-oriented educational opportunities. Certain sections, however, appear unwilling to acknowledge these achievements and have resorted to misinformation campaigns. Students are also being drawn into these efforts.

TIUT’s position is unequivocal: there can be no compromise with the academic environment. Students of the State must not be deprived of opportunities for higher education in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and various other advanced fields. From the very beginning, the people of Tripura have placed their trust in TIUT, and numerous students have enrolled in the University with aspirations of building successful futures. Keeping their interests foremost, the University will continue to address all forms of disruption and misinformation firmly and decisively.

The Techno family remains committed to taking all lawful measures necessary to protect the interests of its students. The University also urges the State Government to take appropriate action against those seeking to disrupt the academic environment and to firmly address extremist forms of regionalism that undermine educational progress and social harmony.
