Agartala, Tripura, 21st of February, 2025 : With the jointly initiative of social organization Uran Three-day “Tripura Literature Festival” organized at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala on Friday (21st February, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has inaugurated the “Tripura Literature Festival” by lighting the ceremonial Lamp.

“The State Government is continuously making efforts to protect and promote the literature, culture and heritage of the state. Agartala Book Fair is being held every year to develop the literary culture. Book fairs are also being organized in other subdivisions outside Agartala.”, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said at the inaugural ceremony of Tripura Literature Festival. The Chief minister has called for showcasing the state’s culture, heritage, and traditions to people at countries and abroad. The Chief Minister said that the state 19 tribal communities. Rabindranath Tagore’s close relationship with the royal family of Tripura is a significant event in the history of literature. Rabindranath Tagore visited Tripura 7 times.

“Its aim is to inspire the new generation in the development of literature and culture of the State. In addition, the Atal Poetry and Literature Festival and the Drama Festival are organized by the State Government. The Information and Culture Department also organizes various cultural programs throughout the year across the state.”, Chief minister also added.

India’s first astronaut Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma among others, spoke at the inaugural ceremony of the three-day literary festival. Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Padma Shri Former vice-chancellor of Tripura University Arunoday Saha, Padma Shri eminent Dhak player Gokul Chandra Das eminent writer Padma Shri, Padma Shri eminent writer Dr. Rabi Kannan, International Booker Prize winner Gitanjali Sri, eminent Rabindra researcher of the state Bikach Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of Techno India University Dr. Ratan Saha, eminent sports organizer Rupak Saha and President of Uran Dr. Sumanta Chakraborty and many other dignitaries were present in the inauguration ceremony.
