Satisfactory Progress In World Bank Funded TRESP Project In 23 Blocks .

Agartala, Tripura, 21st of February, 2025 : Tripura Rural Economic Growth & Service Delivery Project ( TRESP) under Tribal Welfare Department , govt. of Tripura has satisfactorily improved its activities in all performance parameters fixed by the World Bank . Under the vivrant leadership of the Project Director Subhasis Das , in livestock sector 452 PGs  formed by TRLM  out of which 442 nos. bank accounts have been opened , In the agriculture sector of the project 294 Producers group have been formed by TRLM with support of Technical support Agency and 242 bank accounts opened in agri -sector PGs . Fishery sector target was 379 Producer groups but formed only 275 PGs  and 238 bank accounts were opened till 31st January . 

   The World bank has stressed on opening bank accounts to the remaining producer groups , channelizing Establishment costs of Rs. 50 thousand to every PG and working capital Rs. 6 lakhs to each PGs . Maximum Producers groups which received funds from TRESP, have started Procurement of Piglets , construction of sheds , purchasing of feed for the animals . The Block level officials of TRESP continuously guide  the Producer group members in the entire process of development . The progress in the livestock sector is comparatively good from Agriculture and fishery . Agriculture Department has given good initiative by imparting training to cluster Coordinators , ARD Department  has trained 60 Master Trainers and continuously imparting training to Pashu Sakhis . The ARD Department is supposed to complete training of 374 Pashu Sakhis under the TRESP project by June 2025 . The key challenge in this project is channelizing community funds to already formed PGs  by simplifying the fund approval process 1250 Producers Groups by March and 1500 PGs by June as per directives of World Bank .

    In Spite of continuous effort for transferring business funds  , only 45-50 PGs have received funds amounting Rs. 6.5 Lakhs at  , a total not exceeding 50 to 60 Producers groups  funds are in pipeline  due to delay in piloting of business plans , approval process  in district , block and CLF level .  However , Subhasis Das and his team are coordinating  across all stakeholder line departments to gear up field level activities . Regular basis review and monitoring of the world bank team and state PMU ,line departments are going on to trace the project progress . BY the end of June , TRESP project targeted to form 500 PGs , start identifying 10 nos. community managed training Centres ( CMTCs) in TRESP Block area ., 10 nos. Custom Hiring Centre to support Agri-farmers , 10 nos. model cluster level federations as a part of project achievables . Tribal Welfare Department as a nodal Department for TRESP project have transferred huge funds to each stakeholder implementing  department for better implementation of the project. The project cost is  amounting INR 1400 cr.approved by World Bank to the Govt. of Tripura in 80:20 ratio ,which is a dream project of the govt. of Tripura .To carry forward the project towards its high end objectives in regard to livelihood development in 23 ADC Blocks ,all relevant line department’s prompt initiative is undoubtedly a detrimental factor for the success of the World Bank funded project.
