Agartala, Tripura, 16th of August, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Sunday (16th August, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 10.215 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, Tripura Railway Police on Sunday (16th August, 2026) at about 10 AM , SI PankajKumar Das and other Agartala GRPS staff managed to catch one person namely Iman Hossain (24), S/O- Siddik Miah of Shal Khet, near Natun Bazar J.B. School, PS- Sonamura, Sepahijala District, Tripura at Agartala Railway Station on platform no-01in front of Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 10.215 Kg of suspected to be contraband narcotic Ganja in a pitthu bag.
The destination market value of NDPS items is approximately to be ₹3 Lakh in black market.
Accordingly GRPS arrested them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP057, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
