Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of September, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Tuesday (1st September, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddler from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 11.560 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, Tripura Railway Police on Tuesday (1st September, 2026) at about 03 PM, SI Mangal Debbarma and other Agartala GRPS staff managed to catch one person namely Manish Kumar (20), S/O- Sri Panchanand Ray of Sikohabad, Paithan Toli, Fatwah, PS+PO- Fatwa, District-Patna, State-Bihar, Pin no-803201 at Agartala Railway Station on platform no-01 in front of Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 11.560 Kg of suspected to be contraband narcotic Ganja in a pitthu bag.
The destination market value of NDPS items is approximately to be ₹2.5 Lakh in black market.
Accordingly GRPS arrested them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP063, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
