New Delhi, Delhi / Agartala, Tripura, 3rd of July, 2026 : Bijoynagar Gram Panchayat of Mohanpur RD Block achieved historic national recognition on Thursday (2nd July, 2026) as it was officially conferred the prestigious Silver Award at the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2026.

The award was presented by the Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (DARPG), Dr. Jitendra Singh, during the valedictory session of the 29th National Conference on e-Governance held at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) in Jaipur.
The coveted national award was proudly received on behalf of the state by the Secretary of the RD (Panchayats) Department, Government of Tripura, Sri Abhishek Singh, IAS. Bijoynagar Gram Panchayat, has achieved the prestigious Silver Award at the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2026 under the category of “Grassroots Level Initiatives by Gram Panchayats for Deepening/Widening of Service Delivery”. As one of only two Gram Panchayats selected across India for this honour, Bijoynagar secured the prize alongside a 5 lakh cash incentive by transforming its local administration into a highly digital, transparent, and citizens-first model.
This shift is reflected in its exceptional Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI 2.0) score of 88.55 (Grade A), driven by massive milestones including becoming the first panchayat in Tripura to achieve 100% legacy data digitisation, establishing a fully functional e-Office delivering over 100 online public services, and attaining 100% digital literacy among local women. Furthermore, by leveraging the “Gram Barta” voice-update platform, introducing Al-based learning initiatives, and boosting its Own Source Revenue (OSR) by an extraordinary 194%, Bijoynagar has set a phenomenal, technology driven benchmark for sustainable rural self-governance across the entire nation.
