Agartala, Tripura, 1st of November, 2025 : To promote the growth of the tourism industry in Tripura and to showcase the beauty of the State’s tourist destinations to travelers from around the world, a Promo Fest has been organized this year as well. This year, it has been named the Unity Promo Fest. The Unity Promo Fest will be held in six locations across the State. It will begin on November 8 with an inaugural event at Narkelkunja. Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs minister Sushanta Chowdhury,announced this at a press conference on Friday (31st October, 2025).

At a press conference held at the Geetanjali Tourism Guest House, Agartala, the Tourism Minister stated that the first Promo Fest was organized last year to promote tourism in the state, and it achieved remarkable success. Last year, the Promo Fest was held at four locations across the state. This year, the word “Unity” has been added to the Promo Fest, as the development of tourism in the state can only be achieved through the solidarity and collective efforts of both tribal and non-tribal communities. This year, the Unity Promo Fest 2025 will be organized at six locations across the state, each lasting for two days.
To make the Promo Fest more attractive to tourists, this year’s event will include a food festival, fashion show, sports events, and exhibitions showcasing the local cultural heritage. The fashion show will feature the traditional attire of the state’s 19 tribal communities as well as the Bengali community. The cultural programs aim to bring local talents into the spotlight, while local livelihoods will be emphasized to create employment opportunities. The Minister added that during the Unity Promo Fest to be held at Narkelkunja on November 8 and 9, renowned state artists Krishnakoli Saha and Elbert Kabo Lepcha will perform on the second day of the event.
The second event of the Unity Promo Fest will be held at the college ground of Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar College in Belonia on November 15 and 16. On the second day of the two-day event, renowned playback singer Palak Muchhal will perform.
The Tourism Minister announced that the third event of the Unity Promo Fest will be organized in Udaipur on November 19 and 20. On the second day, November 20, renowned singer Papon will perform.
The fourth event of the Unity Promo Fest will be held at Jampui Hills on November 29 and 30. On the second day, November 30, a band from Mizoram will perform a cultural program.
The Unity Promo Fest will also be held at Neermahal on December 4 and 5, where on the second day, singer Debojit Saha will perform.
The closing ceremony of the Unity Promo Fest will be held at Swami Vivekananda Ground in Agartala on December 12. Renowned playback singer Jubin Nautiyal will perform at the event.
The Tourism Minister expressed hope that the grand finale in Agartala would become a historic occasion. He stated that infrastructure development work is currently underway to promote the growth of the tourism industry in the state. He also state that during last year’s Promo Fest at Narkelkunja, licenses were granted to nine individuals to operate home stays for tourists. As of now, 210 home stays have already been established in and around the Narkelkunja area.
He said that home stay facilities have also been started around other tourist destinations in the state, and he urged people to take advantage of this opportunity. The Tourism Minister expressed hope that through the sincere efforts of the state government, it would be possible to introduce Tripura’s tourism industry to the global community.
At the press conference, Prashant Badal Negi, Managing Director of the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC), provided detailed information about the Unity Promo Fest. Also present was Aniruddha Roy, Deputy Director of the Tourism Department.
