Belonia, Tripura, 10th of August, 2026 : A district-level one-day Panchayat conference on VB-G RAM G was held today at the Old Town Hall in Belonia on Monday (10th August, 2026).
In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Panchayat Minister Kishor Barman inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial Lamp.

Inaugurating the conference, Panchayat Minister Kishor Barman said that this initiative would strengthen the rural economy, enhance the skills of rural people, support livelihoods, and help create durable assets. He stated that the programme has the potential to bring transformative changes to villages and offers greater opportunities for public development than MGNREGA. Ministér also said, the initiative can play a significant role in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat. He urged elected representatives to formulate plans based on the needs of local communities and said that, besides creating assets through various projects, proper maintenance mechanisms must also be ensured. He also said, the importance of fostering strong coordination between public representatives and government officials.

Addressing the gathering, Cooperation Minister Shukla Charan Noatia said that if rural residents, government employees, and elected representatives work together for the effective implementation of the programme, its benefits would reach the people within a short period. He expressed hope that the initiative would create new employment opportunities for the rural population. Additional District Magistrate (PP) Shanti Ranjan Chakma delivered the welcome address. South Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Dipak Datta also spoke on the occasion. Among those present were social worker Dipayan Chowdhury, Principal of the Central Works Training Institute Sumit Majumdar, and others.

Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Tapan Debnath, Sahakari Sabhadhipati of the South Tripura Zilla Parishad. Representatives of Panchayats, BDOS, and concerned officials from the district participated in the workshop.
