Dharmanagar, Tripura, 7th of June 2026 : Veteran Left leader and former minister Faizur Rahman of Tripura has been undergoing treatment for a prolonged illness. He has been suffering from health complications for nearly the last five months. His recent deterioration in health has raised concerns among political circles as well as the general public.

On Saturday, Leader of the Opposition and CPI(M) State Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury visited Rahman’s residence in Dharmanagar to inquire about his condition. He spent some time with the veteran leader and gathered detailed information about his health from family members. He also enquired about the medical advice being followed and the treatment being provided. During the visit, Chaudhury assured the family of his support and wished the veteran leader a speedy recovery.Others present during the visit included Amitabha Datta, Ratan Roy, Shailendra Chandra Nath, Islam Uddin and Joynal Uddin, among others.
It may be noted that Faizur Rahman has remained closely associated with the public life and development of Tripura throughout his long political career. Active in politics for more than four decades, he earned the trust and affection of ordinary people through his dedication to public service.Known for his simple lifestyle, close connection with the people, and commitment to the welfare of marginalized communities, he is widely regarded as a “People’s Leader.” Political workers, supporters, and well-wishers across the state are praying for his swift recovery.
