Agartala, Tripura, 7th of March, 2025 : Tripura Police fully committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from Tripura making “Tripura – A Drug-Free State”. In the series of Special Operations West Agartala Police station endeavour is to defeat the ill Narcotics/drugs and succeeded in neutralizing them at regular intervals.
In a significant operation led by the OC of Durga Chowmuhani Police Station and the OC of West Agartala Police Station arrested a young man with cannabis (ganja) from Lankamura area in a joint operation. His name is Rana Sheikh, resident of Gowala Basti area in Agartala. Police recovered 22 kg of cannabis in 11 packets of 2 kg each from him. The market value of which is three lakh. SDPO Debaprasad Roy of Sadar gave details about this today. He will be sent to court today after receiving a specific case under a specific NDPS Act and an application for police remand will be filed, he said.
