Agartala, Tripura, 1st of June 2026 : The Mid-Term Review (MTR) Mission of the World Bank for the Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP) began today with a kick-off meeting at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala.

The meeting was attended by Dr. K. Sashikumar, IFS, Secretary, Tribal Welfare Department; Subhasis Das, Director; World Bank Task Team Leader Ms. Priti Kumar; and mission members representing livelihoods, roads, buildings, education, and finance sectors. Senior officials from seven line departments, PIUs, and support agencies also participated.
Mr. Gajendra Verma, Chief Operating Officer, TRESP, presented the project’s overall achievements and progress across various sectors. The World Bank team held detailed discussions with officials from Agriculture, Animal Resources Development, Fisheries, and Public Works Departments to review implementation progress, operational challenges, and future priorities.

The review emphasized strengthening coordination, accelerating implementation, and ensuring the timely achievement of project objectives. Participants exchanged ideas on addressing field-level challenges and enhancing the impact of project interventions.
During the mission, the World Bank team will conduct a series of review meetings and field visits across districts, blocks, and villages to gain first-hand insights into project implementation and community-level outcomes.

The visit reflects the continued partnership between the Government of Tripura and the World Bank in promoting sustainable livelihoods, improving rural infrastructure, and strengthening service delivery for tribal communities under TRESP.
