Agartala, Tripura, 30th of June, 2025 : In a significant step to boost public employment, the state government recently distributed appointment letters to 222 candidates in the Health and Education Departments. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha handed over letters to 30 newly appointed individuals at a formal ceremony held at Muktadhara Auditorium in Agartala. Speaking as the chief guest, the Chief Minister reiterated the State Government’s commitment to transparent recruitment. “Everyone knows how important a job is for a family. Our government has set an example in providing employment through transparency,” Dr. Saha said. He assured that more vacancies in government departments would be filled gradually in the coming days.

The Chief Minister informed that from 2018 to June 2025, a total of 19,484 people have been appointed to government jobs, including die-in-harness cases. Highlighting progress in employment, the Chief Minister noted that Tripura’s unemployment rate, which stood at 10% in 2018-19, has declined to 1.7% in 2023-24, well below the national average of 3.2%. He attributed this success to continuous development initiatives taken by the government since 2018.

He said e-office systems have been introduced from the village panchayat level to the cabinet, and that Tripura currently ranks second among Northeastern states in terms of per capita income.
